The Golden State is turning a toasty golden brown all thanks to a record breaking drought. Oddly enough Southern Californians could care less. In response I created the fictitious California Water Company, bottled water that moves the drought from a startling thought into a disturbing reality.
California Water Co. will distribute bottles that reflect the drought. A shortage of water in California means a shortage of water in the bottles you buy.
Obviously, the best way to tell introduce the drought bottle to the masses is with billboards!!
California Water Co. loves to explain their brand story to people through print ads with pictures and words.
All ad like objects will direct the audience to the truth behind this campaign; a microsite where users can learn more about the drought and sign a petition.
How do you safely deliver the last of California Water Co.’s precious water supply? With an armored security van, that’s how!
To raise awareness and funds for drought relief, California Water Co. will launch their scarce water as a commodity on the New York Stock Exchange.
I submitted this project to Designboom and I was fortunate enough to be featured on their site. Once that happened other websites thought this project was worth spreading to the rest of the internet.
