I heard that if you use #streetart in a caption/title it gets more attention. Here goes nothing.
This week I needed to do a project that was quick and cheap. I’m planning a wedding with my fiancé, and when you add that to working a real life job, time/money is scarce (I promise that’s all you’ll hear of my sob story).
One of my favorite creative tactics is redundancy/meta-ness. Combining this with the vapid phenomenon of #streetart I created wall-art-street-art. Which pretty much means gluing stock photos of walls to walls that could potentially end up on stock photo sites. Enjoy.
All in all I think this project is the beginning of something interesting. I kind of liked where this prototype landed, but of course it’s underwhelming . To remedy this would require me to do something different than what I’m doing now like printing the walls much bigger or cutting more interesting shapes or creating some three-dimensional element.
Who knows. But it was fun acting like a suburban male in his early twenties who just watched "Exit Through the Gift Shop" for the first time and wanted to experience the thrill of doing something he shouldn't be doing.
